This masterplan aims to provide a clear strategy to guide new development in The Brook, an area of Chatham. The centre of Chatham is physically contained by the River Medway and surrounding hills. The Brook has become a town bypass, separating the town centre from an important residential area. A key principle of the masterplan is the creation of two new public spaces at either end of The Brook to signify the change in nature. The public spaces promote connection between the waterfront and the Town Hall Gardens area and Great Lines beyond.
