Maccreanor Lavington have produced a Reserved Matters Application for Block A at Barrier Park East, the final phase of a 4.6ha site masterplanned by Allies and Morrison.

The site directly adjoins the northern edge of the Thames Barrier Park and is situated to the south of the North Woolwich Road and the DLR viaduct, and enjoys expansive views south to the Thames. Massing and facade concepts respond to the changing context of the block, striking a careful balance between integration with its neighbours and the creation of a recognisable address. Facades are primarily of the same red / brown brick as neighbouring blocks, while the park frontage is conceived as a white brick elevation with continuous balconies in order to aid the definition and inhabitation of the park edge. Key corners are activated with commercial / retail units and a crèche adjoining the new park entrance.
