Program: Mixed-use development with 167 homes and commercial space
Client: Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey and the London Development Agency
Phase: completed, 2012

This residential project forms part of a 4.6ha site masterplanned by Allies and Morrison. The scheme consists of an ‘L’ shaped apartment building containing 156 dwellings, a row of 11 townhouses and an inner landscaped courtyard deck above covered parking spaces. In addition there is a 235m˛ ground floor resident’s gym and 110m˛ retail/commercial space. The residential mix provides private, intermediate and social tenured dwellings.

Maccreanor Lavington’s development of the outline masterplanning proposal focused on the articulation and enrichment of the basic buildings form, a coherent strategy for the northern gallery facing onto the DLR and clear articulation of entrances and the relationship between the ground floor of the building and the public realm. Intrinsic to the success of the development is maintaining the continuity of the masterplan whilst providing enough variety to characterise each building.
