Red Bank is shortlisted for Planning Award 2024

07.05.2024

Red Bank in Manchester has been shortlisted at the 2024 Planning Awards for ‘Best Housing Scheme (500 homes or more).’

The Red Bank Masterplan is a transformative project aiming to turn a currently underused part of Manchester into a unique neighbourhood that combines the wilderness of the riverside park setting and the metropolitan urbanity of Central Manchester.

Working on behalf of Far East Consortium (FEC),  our Urban Studio and Copenhagen practice Schulze+Grassov has worked on the unique masterplan that will regenerate the 17 ha largely brownfield site just behind Manchester Victoria Station.

Filled with hard-working wild nature, this project in Victoria North will be a place to live for all creatures, human or otherwise. Alongside this wilderness, social, community and commercial infrastructure will support a thriving residential neighbourhood to foster an active, local and resilient urban dwelling.

We call it ‘Wild Urbanism’.
The winners will be announced on June 13th
