We Celebrate 5 years of Architects Declare
Wishing Happy Birthday to UK Architects Declare which turned 5 years old.
We celebrated at Haworth Tompkins HQ with fellow signatories and members of the steering group to celebrate the milestone. The group was founded in 2019 by Steve Tompkins and Michael Pawlyn and 17 recipients of the RIBA Stirling Prize. Today over 1,300 practices have signed the group’s declaration. Under the wider banner of Built Environment Declares, the declaration has now spread to cover 43 groupings across 28 countries, with over 7,900 signatories globally.
ML Urban Studio Director, Kevin Logan (pictured in the group) sits on the AD steering group, who this year published a number of industry guides including Building Blocks to Transform the Built Environment which was launched at a media event at the House of Commons in March with an introduction by Green MP Caroline Lucas, Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud, economist Kate Raworth and architect Sarah Barfield.
We are really proud of the work our team has done to contribute to the cause over the years. Well done to everyone in our sector and beyond.
ADUK have another busy year ahead, continuing to lobby regulators and support over 1,500 practices in tackling the climate and biodiversity emergency.
