We sponsor programmes to increase diversity in architecture

16.09.2020

Accelerate is a pioneering education and mentoring programme aimed at increasing diversity in our profession. We are sponsoring the venture from Open City, which funds sixth form students from disadvantaged backgrounds and gives the confidence and skills required to make strong applications to study architecture and subjects linked to the built environment.

Accelerate started in 2012 by Open City, in partnership with UCL’s Bartlett School of Architecture. So far 250 students have taken part in and benefited from the programme.

Students in year 12 and 13 from diverse backgrounds will be sponsored and mentored by architects in the Maccreanor Lavington team, to help build their confidence and skills to be able to make strong university applications to study architecture.
