Blackfriars Circus chosen for Neave Brown Award shortlist 2021

14.09.2021

Blackfriars Circus has been shortlisted for a Neave Brown Housing Award 2021 as part of the RIBA Awards. The project was awarded a RIBA National Award and is now in the running for the affordable housing accolade.

The Neave Brown Award for Housing recognises the best new examples of high-quality, affordable housing in the UK. The award was established in 2019 in honour of socially-motivated modernist architect Neave Brown (1929-2018), best known for designing a series of celebrated London housing estates. To be considered for the 2021 Neave Brown Award for Housing, projects need to be a winner of a 2021 RIBA Regional Award, be ten or more homes completed and occupied between 1 November 2017 and 1 February 2020 and be made up of at least one third affordable housing.

Judges praised the way the scheme created a ‘sustainable new neighbourhood, revived from a semi-derelict brownfield site’
