Urban Studio working on Ireland’s largest urban regeneration project

06.10.2021

We are working on one of their largest strategic framework masterplans to date, the 700 hectare City Edge Project in Dublin’s Naas Road, currently Ireland’s largest urban regeneration project and one of the largest in Europe.

The evolving plans for the strategic framework masterplan which the practice’s Urban Studio is developing alongside South Dublin City Council and Dublin City Council have been revealed as part of the public engagement process.

The City Edge Project is a transformative initiative re-imagining the Naas Road, Ballymount, and Park West areas in Dublin with the potential to create 40,000 new homes and 75,000 new jobs in the region.

Urban Studio Lead and Architects Declare Steering Group panelist, Kevin Logan said: ‘This creates significant economic, social and housing opportunities for the Greater Dublin region, which we are developing along with our collaborators Urban Agency, Avison Young, SYSTRA, Grant Associates, Nicholas O’Dwyer and IAC; we hope to deliver an exemplar strategic framework masterplan for the future of metropolitan Dublin and contribute to meeting Ireland’s commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2050.’
