Joost joined Maccreanor Lavington in 2010 becoming an Associate Director in 2019. He graduated in 1997 from the interior and furniture design department of the Fine Arts Academy Constantijn Huygens. In 2008 he graduated cum laude at the Rotterdam Academie van Bouwkunst. Joost is known as an outstanding communicator and team leader, bringing over 20 years experience working on projects in the Netherlands, UK and Belgium. His work at Maccreanor Lavington has predominantly involved residential-led mixed-use schemes, covering all work stages including feasibility studies, concept designs and masterplanning, and full planning applications to detailed design and construction. He has worked for both public sector and private clients in the UK including HUB, Barratt Developments, St Modwen. In addition to the mixed-use residential portfolio Joost has been involved in the commercial sector including offices, hotels and retail.

Since 2010 Joost has played a senior role specialising in façade design for large-scale urban developments. He brings expertise in several offsite construction techniques and has been instrumental in developing the use of BIM for the practice. Joost leads the Maccreanor Lavington joint office meetings bringing staff together from Rotterdam and London, to jointly review project progress on live commissions.
