Richard Lavington

Richard established Maccreanor Lavington with Gerard Maccreanor in 1992.

Through projects, research and client advisory roles, Richard has developed an extensive understanding of the range of issues involved in delivering good design for the built environment and its significance in nurturing the well‐being of individuals, communities and the life of the city as a whole.

Richard was appointed as A Mayor’s Design Advocate in 2017 and is co chair of Redbridge Design Review Panel and sits on several others including, Islington, LB Croydon, LB Camden, LB Harrow, Harlow and Gillston and has previously served as a CABE enabler. He is a board member of Design for Homes and is on the steering group for the Housing Design Awards.

Richard is known for his collaborative approach to projects, leading complex discussions with multiple stakeholders and for successfully delivering projects of exemplar design quality.
