Toby Ware

Associate, Rotterdam
BA (Hons), Dip. Arch, ARB

Toby studied at the University of Nottingham, Oxford Brookes and University College London. He has twenty years’ experience of completing built projects and has led teams working on all stages of traditional and design & build schemes from inception through to completion.

Toby previously worked at Jestico + Whiles and Anouska Hempel Design in the UK, and Tonkin Zulaikha Greer in Australia. Since joining Maccreanor Lavington in 2014 he has worked on a range of UK residential led planning applications and masterplans, and led the team on the recently completed Chesterfield House, a 26 storey residential led project in Wembley, London.

Before joining Maccreanor Lavington Toby gained extensive experience in the education sector at Jestico + Whiles. During this time he took a number of award winning education projects through to completion, allowing him to develop an appreciation of construction which remains at the core of his approach to design. He has tutored at the University of Kent, and his award winning student dissertation was shortlisted for the RIBA Dissertation Prize.

Toby’s career has also included short but invaluable periods working in a diverse range of fields. Being a site manager, undertaking development work in Africa, and designing luxury fit-outs have all helped him learn three fundamental lessons about building design – work together, ensure it can be delivered, and make it as good as it can be.
