Housing Innovation: Taking cues from the continent

We are currently part of the New London Architecture ‘Housing Londoners’ report, showcasing innovation in delivery and Design.
Television Centre (Plot H1 and H2) features in the latest report exploring what we can do to innovate and enact positive change on London’s housing sector.

We have been experimenting with how we can limit solar gain and future proof homes in response to a hotter climate. The external sun-shading in the form of colourful shutters was carefully integrated into our deign for Television Centre’s elevation design to avoid overheating and ensure a pleasant temperature in all flats. This low energy solution is widely used on the continent to limits solar gain. As moving elements, the shutters add interest and continuing change to the appearance.
